DeForest 4th of July Parade
Help represent Pack 155 at the annual 4th of July parade! Please arrive at the high school at 9:30… Parade starts at 10:30 am. Scouts should wear Class A uniforms, adults marching with the Pack would ideally wear a Pack 155 class B t-shirt (Amy Harsh will have adult sized t-shirts available for purchase at $10 each on Saturday at the parade start).
We will start at the High School. See the map below (click to zoom) — Full disclosure: I stole this agenda from Mr. Armstrong at MPK, if it looks familiar! 🙂
Agenda, July 4th, 2015
9:30 arrive at High School. We will get everyone staged and ready. We get there so early because of traffic; hard to get around.
10:00 Things get ready to move, lining up.
10:30 Parade starts.
Parade Route:
North on Halsar
West on Holum
Finish at at Main St.
I’d prefer if all Parents and Scouts marched but if you prefer not to or are unable, you can pickup your scout at the end. We will turn right and go to Veteran’s Memorial Park where you can pick up your Scout. Make a plan for the end of the parade as far as who is going where and with whom. Make sure your scout knows to stay with me and the other leaders until you arrive.
Expect it to take about 45-60 minutes from the start of the Parade.
Good to know:
Please don’t drive there. You should drop off, park several blocks away and walk, or get there really early. If you arrive at 10:20a and expect to park, you’ll be late. 🙂
Please make sure your scout looks neat. Expectations are that the boys have a neckerchief. The neckerchief will be under their collar with a slide, shirt is clean and tucked in. Thanks for your help. Leaders will also wear their uniforms.
All are welcome to march with us—Parents, Siblings and other family. Den Leaders with kids marching will march with the Pack.
We’ll be handing out candy or tossing underhand, not throwing it. Please remind your scouts of this.
Use your judgement if your new Tiger or New Wolf will be able to make it especially if it’s very hot.
Drink lots of water before during and after.
We’ll have “support wagons” where we’ll keep water bottles and candy.
Please Bring:
We need 2 wagons for candy and water, Please let Tony know if you can bring one. (tony@veroeven.com)
Bring your own water bottle and sunscreen. CLASS A uniforms for scouts is required (NOT CLASS B). Shorts recommended. Wear shoes, or sandals with a strap, but not flip flops.
