What You Need to Know: MAY 2010

Written by Pack155 on May 12, 2010

2009-2010 is nearly in the books. Just a few more things remaining in our Scouting year before summer activities begin. Here’s what you need to know for May 2010, and beyond. To make it easier, just sign up for automatic updates.

Dunk Contest

No, this isn’t like the NBA. It’s the Dunk-a-Leader prize earned by Scouts who sold more than $600 of popcorn last fall. And, immediately following the May Pack Meeting on Monday, May 17, Scouts will be able to make their big splash… or at least their leaders will make a splash! So stick around after the meeting and watch the fun as the Scouts dunk their leaders in a dunk tank. To learn more, see the notes from Dawn Maier.

Lake Delton Fishing Jamboree

Dan Fitzgerald has brought an event to our attention that Scouts may want to consider… the Lake Delton Fishing Jamboree on June 5. For more information, click here.

CAMPOUT IS JUNE 12-13

In case it’s not already on your calendar, the Annual Token Creek Pack 155 Overnight Campout is Saturday and Sunday, June 12-13. The campout is always a great time… and Scouts will have a special campfire “graduation” ceremony as they move on to their next rank for the 2010-2011 Scout Year next fall. You can plan to arrive at 3:00 to setup your campsite. Ideally, it works great for members of each Den set up near each other. Click on this map to see the entire area where we will be camping.

Also, reference these images below to see a photo showing an overhead view of Token Creek County Park and the corresponding map view. Each image marks the playground area you’ll drive past on the way in the upper left (darkened box), and then the entrance to the campsite in the lower right (lighter boxed area) with the loop of the campsite and the field behind it including the park shelter.
