What You Need to Know: MAY 2009

Written by Pack155 on April 21, 2009

The “Jurassic Pack” had their April dinosaur-themed meeting, and in case you missed it here’s the important info to keep in mind for May (and beyond) from the meeting.

April recap: SCOUTS RECEIVING BADGES

Several Scouts received their Tiger or Bear badge in recognition of their achievements. Congratulations, and we look forward to seeing those badges turned right-side-up at the next Pack meeting!

April recap: LEADERS RECOGNIZED

Pack 155 leaders Pete George, Bob Paske, and Jay Waldschmidt all received awards April 19 at the Greater Yahara District Recognition dinner. Congratulations, and thanks for all you do for Pack 155.

LASER TAG!

The much-anticipated laser tag Pack Meeting will be held at the UltraZone near West Towne Mall at 680 Grand Canyon Dr, on Monday, May 18. All Tiger and Wolf scouts should plan to arrive at 4:30 pm. The intention is to allow the younger kids to get in sooner and leave earlier before the older kids arrive. Remember to eat dinner before, there will not be any food served. For a map to Ultra Zone, click here.

SUMMER DAY CAMP

We have a coordinator for the Summer Day Camp, Jen Geerdts. Pack 155 would like to say a big “thank you!” to Jen for helping out. If you will be at the Camp with your scout and can help out while you’re there, please email Jen (or call, 213-8705) ahead of time or when you get to the Day Camp to see how you can help. If you need registration forms or health forms you can download them here.

SCOUTING FOR FOOD

Great job by the Scouts who participated in distributing the Scouting for Food door hangers. Remember when picking up the food this Saturday that the donated items need to be at the United Church of Christ by noon. Use the door at the far west side in the white portion of the building (on the dead end of Windsor St). There will be a funeral Saturday morning and this is the only door that should be used. The UCC is at 4434 2nd St, Windsor, WI‎ (608-846-5731) which is‎ at the corner of Windsor St and Second St in the Town of Windsor (click for map).

TOKEN CREEK OVERNIGHT CAMPOUT

The last event of the season will be the Annual Token Creek Pack 155 Overnight Campout. We look forward to a great time at the Campout. You can plan to arrive at 3:00 to setup your campsite. Ideally, it works great for members of each Den set up near each other. Click on this map to see the entire area where we will be camping.

Also, reference these images below to see a photo showing an overhead view of Token Creek County Park and the corresponding map view. Each image marks the playground area you’ll drive past on the way in the upper left (darkened box), and then the entrance to the campsite in the lower right (lighter boxed area) with the loop of the campsite and the field behind it including the park shelter.
